The comité arp taeuber is consulted by the Fondation Arp for the most complex authentications.
It is composed of three internationally recognized independent art historians:
Margit Rowell
writer, exhibition curator, former curator at MoMA
and the Centre Pompidou, vice-president of the Giacometti Foundation
Juan Manuel Bonet
writer, former director of the Museo Nacional Centro
de Arte Reina Sofía and the Cervantes World Institute
Serge Fauchereau
writer, exhibition curator, professor of literature
at the universities of New York and Austin
The Fondation Arp provides preparatory research
for the Committee’s sessions. This work is based on
the Foundation’s archives, in particular
the collections of François Arp and Marguerite Arp,
on the documents of founders and practitioners
Jean Arp kept, and other confidential information collected over time by the Fondation by working with the galleries,
sales houses and collectors.
The Committee shall verify the elements and, in the light
of its expertise, and after consultation of its members,
gives an opinion on the works presented.
This opinion will be sent to the owners of the works,
and must be indicated by them in case of transfer
of ownership.
